Nazlihan Aktas
Psychodynamic Psychotherapist MNCPS (Accred)
Welcome…
I’m Nazlihan Aktas, a psychodynamic psychotherapist with extensive experience supporting individuals through emotional, psychological, and relational challenges. My work is grounded in creating a safe and thoughtful therapeutic space where complex feelings, patterns, and life experiences can be explored with care. I bring over a decade of clinical experience across the NHS and mental health charities, with particular sensitivity to cultural identity, individuality, and the complexity of each person’s needs.
Working with me…
My approach is psychodynamic, meaning I pay close attention to how past experiences and early relationships shape your inner world and influence the way you relate to yourself and others today. Together, we make sense of both conscious and unconscious patterns within a calm, respectful, and reflective therapeutic space.
I work with individuals facing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety and mood-related struggles, interpersonal conflicts, and the impact of challenging or traumatic life events. I have particular experience supporting those navigating cross-cultural issues, immigration-related stress, and the complexities of the wider systems surrounding an individual. My aim is to offer a therapeutic relationship that deepens understanding, strengthens resilience, and opens the possibility for lasting change.
Therapy is most effective when it takes place regularly and consistently at the same time and in the same setting each week. I therefore encourage a weekly commitment to support a steady therapeutic process. We usually begin with one or two consultation sessions to explore your concerns, consider whether we are a good fit, and discuss any questions you may have.
