Jo Gate-Eastley
Psychodynamic Counsellor & Supervisor MSc, MBACP (Accred).
Welcome…
A qualified and accredited counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor, with over 20 years of experience working with people from a wide range of ages and backgrounds.
My core approach is psychodynamic, looking at patterns and the past in the present.
I have also recently trained in EMDR therapy and this can be used in a focused way, or form part of our work together.
We will always think about you as a unique individual in the world and aim to be flexible and creative in our work together.
Working with me…
How did I get here? These five words are where our work together so often begins. Where do we find ourselves now, how did we reach this place, what isn't working, what is working, and what's our alternative and preferred place to be?
And how can we approach this all with compassion, curiosity, patience and, at times, thoughtful challenging.
Since qualifying as a psychodynamic counsellor/psychotherapist in 2006, I have worked in a wide variety of settings, including higher education, voluntary agencies, PACE (LGBTQ charity), NHS child and family clinic, and in private practice. My therapeutic work has been with adults, young people and children.
I am committed to my work, and care deeply about people, their wellbeing and place in the world. The settings I have worked in have meant I have been able to work with people from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds, sexualities and gender identities, and, more recently, neurodiversities.
I am also a musician, and have a strong sense of the therapeutic value of music and our own creative expression.
Individual counselling/psychotherapy from £90
EMDR therapy sessions from £90 - £120, depending on length of session.
I keep a limited number of reduced fee options for those who may otherwise be unable to afford it.
Please enquire about fees for supervision.
