Amanda Garber

Person Centred & Humanistic Counsellor MBACP (Accred)

Welcome…

I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) which means that I subscribe and adhere to their code of ethics.

I am also a member of the Black African Asian Therapy Network.

Working with me…

My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is person centred and relational. This means that I endeavour to meet each client as a unique individual and work collaboratively with each client to create a relationship that adapts to meet your needs.

I work in a non-directive and non-judgemental way  in a comfortable and secure environment   to provide and enable a supportive and confidential space in which to explore your feelings or whatever issues may be causing you distress. Helping you to feel happier and stronger whilst gaining a greater sense of control.

Seeking counselling can be an opportunity to make sense of your past and consider how you respond to the present and prepare for the future. By being understood in a supportive, non-judgemental and confidential relationship, we can find ways in which to explore and gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and others.

In addition to running my own private practice, I have extensive experience of working in both statutory and voluntary organisations.

As well as working from a person-centred / relational approach, I work with my clients to enable and facilitate whatever movement or change is felt desirable for them. I offer short-term and long-term individual sessions. The therapy sessions are 50 minutes long and sessions usually take place on a weekly basis.

Fees: Initial hour session £50

Ongoing sessions: £70
